Planning Breaks

Can I take breaks during my ride?

Endurance rides are not about never stopping. They're about using your stops well.

ForgedRider solves this by letting you set a break reminder interval at pre-ride (1 hr, 1.5 hr, 2 hr, 2.5 hr, or no alerts). The number of stops don't count against verification, only your total ride duration matters.

Breaks are part of the plan, not a failure

Every ForgedRider challenge assumes you'll stop for fuel, food, water, bathroom breaks, and rest. You can take breaks whenever you need them. The only hard rule is complete your ForgedRider challenge in the total allotted duration.

Choosing your break interval

When you set a challenge distance, you choose a break reminder interval. That's not a limit, it's a nudge. If you're still feeling sharp, you can push further. If you're tired, stop sooner.

Fuel, receipts, and timing

For certification, the important breaks are the ones that involve fuel and receipts: a clear start fuel stop with odometer + receipt photo, optional mid-ride fuel receipts if something unusual happens, a clear finish fuel stop with odometer + receipt photo.

Listening to your body

No certificate is worth riding when you're exhausted. If your body or the conditions say it's time to stop, stop. You can always ride another day. Your safety comes first.
