Ride Verification Evidence
What evidence is needed to verify a ride?
Verification is built on three pieces of evidence. Get these right and the rest is automatic.
ForgedRider solves this by recording your GPS track automatically and asking you for two clear photos: one at the start, one at the finish, each showing your odometer and a fuel receipt. Those three pieces of evidence are all the system needs.
Required evidence
You need five things for every ride certification:
- Set your ForgedRider Challenge. Set your distance, set your break intervals, the app
will calculate the duration.
- Take a starting photo. A clear shot of your motorcycle's odometer and a fuel receipt
taken at the starting point of your ride. Both should be in one image, so they share a timestamp.
- Record Your Challenge. Start your ForgedRider challenge. The app records your ride
using your phone's GPS and uses your photos with your information to verify your ride.
- Take a finishing photo. A clear shot of your odometer and a fuel receipt at the finishing
point. Same rule: one image, both items visible.
- GPS data from the ride. ForgedRider records this automatically while you ride. You
don't need to do anything beyond keeping the app open and your phone powered.
Optional but helpful
One more type of evidence is optional and will help when something happens:
- Mid-ride fuel receipts. Take a photo of odometer and fuel receipt along the way. These
are useful if your route goes through GPS dead zones (mountains, tunnels, remote areas).
Most rides verify cleanly without them. But on long, remote rides, mid-ride receipts are cheap insurance.
What the system looks for
During verification, ForgedRider lines up your photos, GPS track, and any receipts. It answers a few specific
questions:
- Did you start and finish where and when you said? Photo timestamps + GPS start/end
points should match.
- Does your route cover the challenge distance and duration? GPS distance and duration
should both clear the bar.
- Are your speeds and times realistic for a motorcycle on the route you took? No
teleporting, no unexplained gaps that would suggest a non-motorcycle leg.
If all those check out, your certificate is generated automatically and emailed within minutes.
What if a photo is unclear or a receipt is missing
If a photo is blurry or a receipt is unreadable, your ride may go to manual review. A human looks at it and
may email you for a clearer shot or for an explanation.
Most issues are fixable. If the ride cannot be certified, you can plan your next ride with a cleaner evidence
approach. See the Manual Review
Process for details.
